Wikipedia「陸前高田ユースホステル」より一部抜粋…『陸前高田ユースホステル（りくぜんたかたユースホステル）は、日本ユースホステル協会に加盟していた岩手県のユースホステル。高田松原公園内に位置し、東北地方太平洋沖地震で建物が一部崩壊するなど大きな被害を受けたが、震災の数カ月前から無期限休館中だったため人的被害はなかった。高田松原もほぼすべての松が流出したが、ユースホステル敷地内の松が1本だけ奇跡的に残り、復興のシンボルとなった。建物は震災遺構として保存される方針であり、実質的に閉鎖となる。』

震災遺構「陸前高田ユースホステル」…『「陸前高田ユースホステル」は風光明媚な高田松原公園内にあった宿泊施設でした。1969年（昭和44年）竣工の鉄筋コンクリート2階建て、延べ床面積698㎡、玄関ホールを中心に左右に客室がのびた美しい建物でした。2011年（平成23年）1月から休館中だったため東日本大震災津波の発災当日は無人でしたが、津波によって建物は完全に水没。砂地だった地盤が大きくえぐられ、建物の東半分が折れ曲がるように破壊された姿は、津波の脅威を如実に物語っています。「奇跡の一本松」は、この建物があったために津波の直撃を免れ、倒れることなく残ったと考えられています。』・『The Rikuzentakata Youth Hostel was an accommodation facility located in the scenic Takata Matsubara Park,where it had welcomed many travelers,mainly young people.Completed in 1969,it was a beautiful building with two floors of reinforced concrete,a total floor area of 698㎡,and guest rooms extending to the left and right from the central entrance hall.Since the building was closed since January 2011,it was unoccupied on the day of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami,but the building was completely submerged by the tsunami.The appearance of its gouged out sandy foundation and the collapsed eastern half of the building clearly shows the devastating strength  of the tsunami.It is believed that the Miracle Pine survived the direct hit,and was able to withstand the waves of the tsunami because of this building.』
